Where to take furniture, appliances and recyclables: Green Points in Cyprus

Green Points take sorted household waste free of charge; business waste is refused. Limassol has 4 sites, Paphos 5, Nicosia 8, Larnaca 7 plus the town site.

Everyday life in Cyprus Checked: Changed:

In short

Who it applies to
Anyone who needs to get rid of what does not go in the ordinary bin: old furniture and mattresses, appliances, branches, rubble from your own DIY, batteries, medicines, paint.
What it costs
Free — for household waste. Waste from shops, workshops, building contractors and farms is not accepted, free or paid.
How long it takes
No appointment — you turn up during the site's opening hours. Each site has its own hours, often longer in summer; almost all close on public holidays.
Where to apply
The sites are run by your district's local government organisation (Επαρχιακός Οργανισμός Αυτοδιοίκησης, ΕΟΑ), not the municipality. The list, hours and phone numbers are on the district ΕΟΑ's site.
If your case differs
Bring it already sorted: furniture separately, appliances separately, paper separately. A mixed bag and kitchen waste are refused everywhere.

Call before you go

Hours change with the season, and the ΕΟΑ sites do not always update them at once: ΕΟΑ Λάρνακας lists two sets of hours split by a slash, the Nicosia network posts them as an image. If you are bringing something unusual, ask about the category too — ΕΟΑ Λεμεσού itself advises this.
