Privacy policy

This page explains what data info.cy collects and why. It applies from 17 September 2026 and was updated on 27 October 2026.

What we do not collect

The site has no registration, newsletter or visitor analytics. While you are simply reading, we collect nothing about you and ask for neither your name nor your email.

The contact form

There is a form on the Contacts page. If you use it, we receive what you typed into it: your name, your email address and the text of your message. We need this for one purpose only — to reply to you. We do not use it for mailings. A form message also reaches us in Telegram, so it passes through Telegram's servers; we do not pass it to anyone else.

Along with the message we store technical details of the submission: IP address, date and time, and the address of the page the form was sent from. We need them to tell people apart from spam bots.

A message is kept for one year from the day it was sent, and is then deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner by writing to [email protected].

The form will not send without your consent: ticking the consent box is required. You can still write to us by ordinary email, without the form.

Our Telegram bot

You can also write to us through the info.cy bot in Telegram. We then receive your Telegram name and username, the chat number and your message, so that we can reply in the same chat. The site does not store this conversation; it stays in Telegram, and Telegram's rules apply to it as well. You can ask us to delete the conversation on our side in the same chat or by writing to [email protected].

If a chat sends us spam, we block it: the site keeps the chat number on a block list for as long as the block is in place — without the name or the messages. The bot does not reply to messages from a blocked chat and does not pass them on to us. If you were blocked by mistake, write to [email protected].

Technical data

Like any web server, ours logs technical details of requests: IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser information. We need them to keep the site running and protected from abuse (such as mass automated downloading), and we do not use them to identify you.

Cookies and browser storage

The site sets a technical session cookie, which language switching needs to work. Your browser's local storage keeps your chosen colour theme and your answer to the cookie notice. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. The site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.

Advertising

The site sometimes shows banner ads, marked “Advertisement”. The banner image is stored on our own server, so simply seeing it tells the advertiser nothing about you: the banner carries no cookies, pixels or counters. If you click a banner, the advertiser's website opens and its rules apply from then on. The link includes a tag that lets the advertiser see the visit came from info.cy.
