Tax Department moves IBAN changes to Tax For All from October 5
From October 5, taxpayers must register or change their bank account for tax payments only through the Tax For All portal using CY Login. Requests sent by email will no longer be accepted.
Taxpayers who want to register or change the bank account used for payments from the Tax Department will have to do so exclusively through the Tax For All (TFA) portal from October 5, as reported by Cyprus Mail. Requests submitted by email will no longer be accepted.
Under the new procedure, taxpayers must log in to TFA using their CY Login credentials and submit the completed T.D. 2008 form together with an IBAN certificate issued by their bank. The Tax Department stressed that the account must be held in the name of the person or entity entitled to receive the payment.
From October 5, any IBAN registration or amendment sent without first logging in through CY Login, including by email, will be rejected. The department said it is the latest step in its wider shift towards Tax For All as the main digital gateway for tax matters.
The platform already allows taxpayers to submit returns, view tax accounts, request certificates, update registration details and communicate securely with the department. CY Login access was added to TFA in August 2025, letting taxpayers use the same credentials previously linked to the government's Ariadne service.
Limited exception
Entities that cannot be identified through the system and therefore cannot obtain CY Login may still submit a request through TFA without signing in. They must complete and sign the T.D. 2008-S form and attach the IBAN confirmation from their bank.
The department made clear that this exception does not cover businesses or other entities that are eligible for CY Login but have simply not registered for it yet. Those using the exceptional procedure should scan the signed form and submit it through TFA as a new message, along with the bank certificate.
Taxpayers who cannot access their account can contact the Tax For All technical support centre on 17700, which provides technical assistance rather than tax advice. A detailed guide on the new IBAN procedure is available on the department's website.
What it means for residents
If you receive payments from the Tax Department, such as refunds, you can no longer fix your bank details with a simple email. From October 5 everything goes through Tax For All, so the practical step is to check your access well before you need a payment to arrive.
- Set up CY Login now if you do not have it yet, since without it the portal will reject an IBAN registration or change.
- Get the IBAN certificate from your bank before submitting the T.D. 2008 form, and make sure the account is in the name of the person entitled to the payment.
- Businesses without CY Login should register for it rather than rely on the exception, which only covers entities that genuinely cannot be identified in the system.
