Families applying for state student support for the 2025-2026 academic year now have until October 20 at 2pm to file their paperwork, according to the grants and subsidies service of the finance ministry. The previous cut-off had been set for October 12 at 10am, as reported by Cyprus Mail.

The extension followed checks showing that a number of submissions were filled in incorrectly, with some left unfinished or sent in even though the system had flagged problems. The service said the extra time is meant to give households another chance to finish the process and avoid missing out because of circumstances they could not control.

Applicants are being told to log in and either complete or resubmit their forms with accurate details. Officials made clear that no further extension will be granted beyond October 20.

Editorial note

What it means for residents

Anyone with a child in tertiary education who has not yet finalised a grant application has roughly another week to sort it out, but the window is closing for good this time. Missing the new date means losing the support for the whole academic year, so the practical move is to check the application status now rather than later.

  • Check the status of your submission Log in to the system and confirm whether your form was accepted or is still sitting as a draft.
  • Fix flagged errors If the system raised warnings, correct the details and resubmit before the deadline.
  • Do not wait for a third chance Officials have said October 20 at 2pm is the final cut-off.
