Cyprus employers will get a one-day walkthrough of dismissal rules and the new teleworking legislation at a seminar organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve), as reported by Cyprus Mail. The session runs at the Atlantica Miramare hotel in Limassol on November 9, 2026, from 8.45am to 5.15pm, and will be held in Greek.

Speakers will go through lawful and unlawful dismissal, forced resignation and voluntary departure, along with notice periods, compensation and redundancy payments. A separate part of the programme deals with the teleworking law: its purpose, remote-work costs, employers' duties, written information for staff and the right to disconnect. The fee is €300, cut to €160 after a €140 subsidy from the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (Anad).

Registration forms must reach Keve at [email protected] by Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The training is designed for owners, directors and deputy directors, as well as officers and staff who handle employment matters in their organisations.

Editorial note

What it means for residents

If you run a business or manage staff on the island, the seminar covers ground that shows up in everyday paperwork — how a dismissal is handled, what a departing employee is owed, and what has to be put in writing once someone works from home. The subsidy makes the day cheaper, but the deadline is tight, so forms are worth sending early.

  • Check your contracts. The line between an employment contract and a contract for services is one of the topics, and getting it wrong affects dismissal claims.
  • Review remote-work terms. Employers must tell staff in writing about teleworking arrangements, and the right to disconnect has to be respected outside working hours.
  • Mind the dates. The session is on November 9, 2026, and registration closes on November 4, 2026.
