Editorial note

What it means for residents

Residents should prepare for wet and possibly stormy conditions, especially midweek, and plan outdoor activities accordingly. The drop in temperature also means it is worth checking heating arrangements and warm clothing.

  • Travel: Expect slick roads and reduced visibility during storms; allow extra time for commutes.
  • Property: Secure loose objects on balconies and check drainage to avoid water damage from heavy rain or hail.
  • Health: Colder temperatures may affect vulnerable groups; dress warmly and monitor local forecasts.
