UCy opens English-taught degrees with fees from €5,300 to €25,000
The University of Cyprus has unveiled its English-language undergraduate programmes, with annual tuition spanning €5,300 to €25,000 and applications for 2027-2028 now open.
The University of Cyprus has presented its English-language undergraduate programmes, as reported by Cyprus Mail, with tuition between €5,300 and €25,000 per year. The cheapest is a three-year Urban Sustainability Studies degree run with the YUFE alliance, while the six-year Doctor of Medicine course carries the highest fee.
Economics and business degrees cost €10,000 annually over four years, and the first English-language economics intake is expected in September 2027. Applications for the 2027-2028 academic year opened on Tuesday through the YUFE Virtual Campus.
Entry generally requires a secondary school diploma, proof of English proficiency and international, Pancyprian, Panhellenic or equivalent exam results. Fees are paid in two instalments, with a non-refundable €500 deposit deducted from the first semester.
What it means for residents
For families on the island, this widens the options for studying in English without leaving Cyprus — but the price gap between programmes is steep, and some routes involve time abroad.
- Budget carefully: beyond tuition, students on the YUFE track must cover accommodation and living costs abroad, though Erasmus funding may be available.
- Check entry requirements early: medicine demands strong science grades, while economics and business applicants need a CV and motivation letter, with mathematics weighted heavily.
- Mind the deposit: the €500 payment on accepting a place is non-refundable, so confirm the choice before committing.
