The Christmas season in Cyprus’s towns starts in mid-November. In Nicosia, the Paramythoupoli children’s fair (Παραμυθούπολη, “Fairytale Town”) opens on Friday 13 November. In Limassol, the marina switches on its Christmas tree on Saturday 21 November. The Christmas villages in the mountains open the same day.

Nicosia: Paramythoupoli from 13 November

As in previous years, the fair is set up in the D’Avila Moat by the old city walls, on the municipal car park. It runs from 13 November to 10 January 2027, including the holidays. The rides come from the Parko Paliatso funfair, some of them new compared with previous years. Dance schools will perform on a stage.

Opening hours and the programme have not been announced yet. The fair occupies the car park in the moat, so if you are driving into the centre, plan another place to park. We will update this article when the programme is published.

Limassol: the marina tree on 21 November

On Saturday 21 November, Limassol Marina switches on its 12-metre Christmas tree in Marina Square. The event opens the marina’s “Christmas on the Sea” season and runs from 16:00 to 20:30:

  • 16:00 — Christmas market in aid of the Funraising Charity Foundation, arts and crafts workshop for children;
  • 17:00 — Christmas carols by the Diamantidou School of Music;
  • 17:45 — the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis, switches on the lights, followed by a dance performance by Limassol Dancing Center;
  • 18:00–20:00 — Santa Claus hands out presents to children;
  • 18:30–20:30 — live music by the Christina Averkiou Band.
